Picture NA I ran into the writer of this utility on my web hosts forum. This guy really knows his stuff (not just limited to BSD stuff either - look at his personal site when you get time). Essentially, Portsnap is a replacement for CVSup. I can't lie - I'm behind on keeping my ports up to date. However, I did use this for some time and the process was painless.
