Starting With Rpg Maker

A Guide To Starting With RPGMaker 2003

Once RPGMaker 2003 has been opened, go straight to File/new Project.

Enter your project name and directory, try and keep the project directory as one word.

Now you can mess around with the chipsets, and create simple enviroments, the F5 key triggers the bottom layer chipset, while F6 calls the upper layer, and F7 calls the event layer. RPGMaker uses events to add originality, complexity and usefull features to your game, to place an event you need to be in event mode (F7). Events will be explained in further detail within another tutorial.
