Final Steps

Create a New Page

Pages can be added to a web at any time.

To create a new page in Page View

  • On the Standard toolbar, click New Page (SpeedKey: Ctrl + N)

A new, blank page is created.
To create a page based on a template or wizard

As well as templates and wizards for creating a web, FrontPage contains several templates and wizards for creating different kinds of web page.

  • From the File menu, click New then Page or Web... then from the New from template section of the task pane, click Page Templates...

The Page Templates dialogue box is displayed.

  • Select an icon to view a preview of the page in the right-hand panel
  • Select the icon for the page you want then click OK

Tip: If you select a wizard icon , a series of dialogue boxes will help you to construct the page.

Open an Office Document In A Web

If you use Microsoft Office, you or your colleagues may have created web pages from other Office applications, such as Word or Excel.

You can import these into your web and continue to edit them in the original application or using FrontPage.

To import an Office document web page into a web

  • In Windows Explorer, select the Office web document
  • From the Edit menu, select Copy (SpeedKey: Ctrl + C)
  • Switch to FrontPage and display the Folders List
  • Select the folder you want to import the document into
  • From the Edit menu, select Paste (SpeedKey: Ctrl + V)

The file is imported into the web. Office web documents appear with a slightly different icon to normal FrontPage web pages.

To open a web page document

If you double-click an Office web document to open it, it will open in the original application. However, you can also edit it in FrontPage.

  • Right-click the document icon then from the shortcut menu, select Open With...
  • In the Open With Editor dialogue box, select FrontPage and click OK
  • Edit and save the document as normal

Apply a Theme

Themes are collections of design elements - bullets, background patterns, table borders, fonts and graphics - that you can apply to an entire FrontPage web.

You can apply one of the many FrontPage themes to give your pages a dynamic, colourful and consistent appearance.

To apply a theme to an entire web

  • From the Format menu, select Theme...

The Themes dialogue is displayed.

  • Select a theme from the list

You can see a preview of the theme and its graphical elements on the right of the dialogue box.

  • Click OK

The selected theme is applied to all the pages in your current FrontPage web.

Tip: Click the Modify button to customise the theme.
